ജൈവകൃഷിയില് വലിയ പ്രാധാന്യമാണ് ചകിരിച്ചോര് കമ്പോസ്റ്റിനുള്ളത്. അടുക്കളത്തോട്ടത്തിലും ടെറസ് കൃഷിയിലും, ഗ്രോ ബാഗ് തയാറാക്കുമ്പോഴും ഒഴിച്ചു കൂട്ടാന് പറ്റാത്ത വസ്തുവാണ് ചകിരിച്ചോര് കമ്പോസ്റ്റ്. സംസ്കരിച്ചെടുത്ത ചകിരിച്ചോറില് 1.26% നൈട്രജന്, 0.06% ഫോസ്ഫറസ്, 1.20% പൊട്ടാഷ് എന്നിവയ്ക്കു പുറമെ ലിഗ്നില് 4.80%, സെല്ലുലോസ് 10% എന്നിവ അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു. നെല്കൃഷി ഏക്കറിന് നാല് ടണ്, തെങ്ങിന് 50 കി.ഗ്രാം, കശുമാവിന് 50 കി.ഗ്രാം എന്ന തോതില് ഉപയോഗിക്കാം. മണ്ണിൻ്റെ ഈര്പ്പം നിലനിര്ത്തുന്നതിനും, മണ്ണിളക്കം കൂട്ടുന്നതിനും, വേരുകളുടെ പ്രവര്ത്തനം ഉത്തേജിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനും, ഉല്പ്പാദനം കൂട്ടുന്നതിനും ഗുണമേന്മ വര്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനും ഈ കമ്പോസ്റ്റിനു കഴിയും.

Processed coir pith contains 1.26% nitrogen, 0.06% phosphorus, 1.20% potash and 4.80% lignin and 10% cellulose. Paddy can be used at the rate of 4 tonnes per acre, coconut at 50 kg and cashew at 50 kg. This compost can retain soil moisture, increase soil fertility, stimulate root function, increase productivity and improve quality.
